I shall read on a train, on a plane โ€ฆ

But sadly, I canโ€™t read under water. Well at least I couldnโ€™t, until this weekend.

Scuba diving, Aliwal Shoal, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa

I have acquired a new phone housing for diving that allows access to all your apps, including Kindle! So if I wanted to, I could read under the water ๐Ÿ˜‚

But Aliwal Shoal is well known for its active population of sharks, so taking a moment or two to read is really not advisable ๐Ÿฆˆ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ragged tooth shark, one of many!

In reality, I was taking a photograph of a diving buddy.

It was such an amazing trip, and of course I did read, but safely above the water ๐Ÿ“–

Marble ray
Slightly blurry cowrie
Nudibranch
So many starfish

This is my other love. The sea ๐ŸŒŠ it brings me peace and calm.

My happy place ๐Ÿฅฐ

Gone divingโ€ฆ

I am going scuba diving for the next 4 days. Time for some vitamin sea!

I have packed my Kindle (fully stocked), earphones for my audiobooks, and the latest Lauren Beukes novel, Bridge.

Not sure if I have enough books. What do you think?

Saturday mornings

My sons are sports mad so I often find myself on the side of the training field, Astro, rugby field, swimming pool, dam etc.

This morning it is hockey for the 14yo and rugby for the 11yo. We generally have to get there well before the games start so of course my trusty Kindle is always along for the ride.

Although we are moving into winter in South Africa, the sun is still showing off so here I am, Kindle in hand, waiting for the match to start.

Today I am starting the latest in the Genevieve Lenard series, by Estelle Ryan. I have read every single book in the series and I just love them.

Art theft, art history, adventures and thrills. Diverse characters that make me smile and laugh and the lead character is so intriguing. She is neurodivergent and it is incredible to read her perspectives as well as how her friends accept and adapt to her unique style and personality.

Love the series!
